Hi guys,
Here's the thing. We want our forum to be as warm, friendly, and welcoming as possible. In no way do we want any of you to feel left out or different. We are all Chammies and we're all one big framily. However, we don't want our forum to be abused, and we don't want to enable those who are seeking attention instead of seeking help. I am sure if you've been here long enough, you've seen the thread called I Love You All So Much by chammie1993. When I first saw the thread, I thought there was something fishy about it, but I let it slide, because first of all, who am I to judge, and second of all, if this girl is serious about her claims of attempted suicide, we don't want to drive her away instead of giving her a safe space to feel loved. The moderators of this forum and I decided to keep a close watch on the girl and her posts and to leave things alone, but if the situation escalated, we would do something. Well, it has. Feel free to go read that thread if you want a run down of what happened, I'm not going to delete it, but I am going to lock it so no more comments can be made there. I'm going to share with you a message I received from a forum member who shall not be named, so you guys can understand why as moderators we felt the need to shut that thread down.
I hope you all understand that we are taking this matter very seriously and are keeping the best interests of the form in mind. If you have anything to say about the situation, please feel free to leave a comment below. We appreciate your input.
Thanks,
FYMC and the mods

Okay, here’s the thing. Recently under the Advice folder, a user named chammie1993 started a thread called “I Love You All So Much.” She started talking about her depression and anorexia and thanked the frandom for being so supportive. You told her never to worry about finding a safe place on the website and that was incredibly nice of you. However, I’m worried about this girl
chammie1993 is on Twitter under Rusher1993. Her name is Elizabeth, but sometimes she goes by Ellie or Beth. I used to follower her, but recently she’s said some things that have prompted me to unfollow. Her account is protected and now I can’t see anything, but here’s what I remember.
A few days ago (literally like 5 days ago) she went on Twitter and announced that she was going to overdose on pills and kill herself. Several of her friends who also run Chammie accounts were replying begging her not to and using the hashtag #prayersforEllie. About 20 minutes later someone who claimed to be her sister took over her account and started replying to her friends saying that she was alright and in the hospital getting her stomach pumped. I felt sick to my stomach that someone could feel like this, and even though I’d just joined twitter I used the hashtag to show my support.
Later on though, I started to get suspicious. Her sister was unusually calm about the whole ordeal, replying with “” at the end of messages and quickly returning Ellie’s phone to her less than an hour after the whole thing started. From then on, Ellie was back and tweeted that she was being kept in the hospital overnight (though she never really went to sleep).
I wanted to know what was really going on, so I looked through some more of her tweets. She replied to one user saying that’d she’d overdosed on ibuprofen and that’s when I knew something was up – prolonged, continuous overdoses of ibuprofen can cause serious health problems but a one-time overdose cannot kill you. It’s an anti-inflammatory drug meant to reduce pain but won’t give you a “high” like Oxycontin or Vicodin, two common OD drugs. By the next day she was home, seemingly never having been put under serious observation, and later that same day she was at the mall buying jewelry. That’s when I unfollowed and I have no idea what happened since.
This incident really stuck with me because about 2 weeks ago my mom’s brother killed himself. He didn’t overdose on drugs, but he had a wife and three kids who are now left behind because he used a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I don’t tolerate people who take suicide threats lightly.
I believe that this girl has a serious problem with depression or anxiety and wants validation or even attention. There’s nothing wrong with that and I’d highly suggest given the chance that she see a therapist or a psychiatrist. However, it’s not fair for the Michelle Chamuel fans to have to talk her down from a ledge when all they want to do is celebrate MC’s music and support her. I’m legitimately worried that this girl will start a thread and act out another suicide scene and that’s when it becomes a very serious problem.
I’m not saying you should ban her, but maybe you should keep an eye on what she’s posting? I knew when I followed her I wasn’t expecting that at all, and most of the board members probably aren’t either. The advice board should be a safe place for her, but I’m worried that she’s going to abuse it.
