I don't really like to bag on the other contestants, but I just really didn't want Danielle to win. Even in an interview after the finale performances she said she was really confident in how she did and how things were going to turn out. The tone in which she said that was basically implying that she knew she was going to win. Also, I feel like, although she did have a really good voice, there was nothing unique about it and she got so much praise just because she was so young and a baby. There was just nothing exciting about her winning, you know? I feel like everyone just kind of knew. Even though I love Michelle more than I will ever love another contestant on The Voice and I think she has the most amazing voice and personality, I knew Danielle was going to win after her battle round. This is my take on Ms. Danielle. I'm going to use a metaphor here: ( A Lump of Clay) She's really is too young....but, has a natural God given talent. She really can sing. Now, being young, no experience in the biz, has a great personality, nice to look at.....loves country music.. means the music industries dream catch. Mold that into what they want and sing what they want. Which is EXACTLY what Michelle DID NOT WANT. I believe she signed with Machine Records here in Nashville. Which is sort of Ironic for a record company name.......Machine Records...... Well.....they have there their hands full. Did you notice her parents are divorced. Both remarried and both sets were with her the entire show. I think that's great for support on her part...as it should be with families. But, behind closed doors at Machine Records..........I bet it's a nightmare. I didn't like Danielle either. I felt like she wasn't passionate about singing, and I don't get what is so great about her voice. She sounds like a lot of other country singers. My opinion, sorry if you disagree. However Michelle has a beautiful voice, and you could tell she was passionate and a humble person. Danielle seemed to kind of have a big head...

I like Danielle. I think she has an adorable personality. And I think it worked out for the best. But I don't think her voice is anything special. She's Carrie - lite, IMO. I thought she got too much praise for her "perfect pitch" when quite often it was off. But she does have an undeniable charm too her.
That said, I'm sure they all knew Danielle was likely going to win, with Michelle having a slight possibility. (And that slight possibility was essentially eliminated top 5 night.) It's not like contestants don't look at itunes.
I was really hoping for a Danielle/Amber/Michelle finale. As those were my top 3. I just loved Amber's voice. And her and Michelle would dominate my top 10 performances. (Probably 5 to 4..with Danielle getting 1..the last spot..maybe.) I wasn't crazy about her though, as an individual. And I thought with the two country blondes from Texas being in the finale, Michelle would have had a better chance. But it's better she didn't win. She and Usher can have control of her music now.
I also want to stick up for Usher. I feel like his words get twisted with those comments. He was really referring to the black community, and the issues a lot of black men are having in being responsible. I don't actually know if it's true that black women are choosing to be with other women, but plenty of studies have shown that black women are choosing to remain single because of this black male culture (aka lack of maturity). I don't think he meant that women are only lesbians because there aren't enough dudes." He just didn't say it well enough. He's clearly not homophobic.
He does seem to have a bit of that "chivalry" attitude. And even though I don't think it comes from a bad place. He doesn't seem to think women are lesser, just different. But it's still a little sexist.

Well, I don't think I actually said that I didn't like her. She can sing. I just think she's too young. She don't even have a drivers license yet. But, she can sing. .................... I love how Blake said that Michelle was a thorn in his side. That means he knew Michelle was better. I'm a little interested what his wife had to say about the whole situation. From what I have heard and read, she is a HUGE supporter of indie artists. I would love to be a fly on the wall when he got home to his wife. > imagining what went down ....... " Blake, Sweetie.........I think it's time for you to let someone else take your seat on that show. " ...........Gawd, I hope I don't get blasted for that. It was just my imagination.

I love Blake. He needs to not win next season. But I love Blake. (And Adam, And Shakira, and obviously Usher.)

I really don't know who would be second but people who I also enjoyed and appreciated their incredible voices are Sasha Allen, Sarah Simmons, Judith Hill. These girls have amazing voices too and seem like they are sweethearts too. But Michelle is my favorite of course. I like Garrett Gardner too. I was so pissed that Michelle did't win but everything happens for a reason. Just like she tried out before on the voice but didn't make it to the blinds, it was for a reason. She was meant to be with Usher so that is why she made it on this past season. She realized and said herself that she rather stay independent and not become completely industry. So as much as it still hurts and mad I am haha it was for the best truly. I also think that the music she has made and is making now wouldn't be what the industry want or will "market" because to them it's about profit and not really the artistry of music and the meanings/emotion that Michelle does so well in her music.

OMG. I just spent 40 minutes typing this incredible piece of awesomeness.....went to post it. gone.
here we go again. Not going to be the same....
OK..... This season was a PIVOTAL moment on everything. And Michelle was that person who did that. This was the only season without 2 of its original judges. Shakria, who I have always loved. And Usher...
When I heard that Usher was going to be on the show, I rolled my eyes. I have always known about what he said on homosexuality in the past. And I'm sure Michelle wasn't an idiot for picking him. I think she knew.
She did say that her GUT was pointing toward USHER, so she picked him. I find that very interesting.
There is something about this woman. She has made everyone change. Minds, views..........everything that I know of I have wished for to happen. And it all came to a pivotal point on this show. Because of her...a lot of people changed. Hopefully I am saying this right. I really am trying to remember what the hell I wrote. This is so aggravating.
Well... Call me crazy.....and I'm sure someone reading this will........LOL.......People who have strived to make a difference in the world.......JFK, MLKJ, Mother Theresa, Ghandi, and all others, who I can't remember right now, who have died. She is all of them brought back to life in a very small body. Like I said......something about her. God does work in some mysterious ways. Not Crazy?
Another friend of mine told me something about her last week, it went something like this. "There are Angels on this planet masquerading as humans. Some do small things and others do huge things. That girl you talk about all the time.......She is one of them. She did something and people noticed. And it is going to continue ."
Well.....that's all I can remember. It's not the Awesome posting I did and lost.....but, it's good enough.
You are so right! I totally understood what you were saying and I agree. There is something magical about her. Just the way she interacts with people (other contestants, interview, fran, etc.) She has an incredible humility about her and a true kindness to people. It is very refreshing and out of this world. I don't think I have met or seen a person on tv like that. I think that's what so special about her firstly and then her awesome talent. Also, she is so eloquent when conversing with people and during interviews. She is amazing.

MC = Has a Brain. Thank you Michelle!!! But, sometimes thinking too much can be a burden. Think and speak wisely. On another note, I remember her saying something about behaving ones self. I can't believe she actually said that on television. How many performers that you know actually say that (out loud) in public. They think it, but never aloud. I love it.

I like that she is college educated. It definitely adds to her credibility because she studied music for four years, so I'm sure she has a vast amount of knowledge between that and her band. What do you mean "behaving one's self?"

What do you mean "behaving one's self?" Polite, Kind, Mature, Professional, .....She presented herself in all these ways (and then some) that are expected of a contestant that will shown to the public. (and then some) meaning, she also pointed out, at one time, that she needed to sit up straighter. I believe that up in the box with Christina Milian. A video was being shown to her and us during the visit she had with Taylor Swift. MC pointed at the screen and said, "Yeah, that's me and I need to sit up straighter." I don't know if she was trying to be funny or was actually pointed out what she should have done during that taping. But, I found that to be really cool. "Behaving One's Self" was something that I pointed out because she mentioned It in an interview with someone. She is (was) very aware that everyone would be watching everything she does while on the show. That, in my point of view, is very refreshing. I hope I answered the question you asked me.

Yeah, I see what you mean She is very refreshing and I think she is a role model for people everywhere. I really like that she seems to have a close relationship with her family too. It's sweet. You can tell that that is where she gets the strength to be herself. I read an article that interviewed her mom and it sounded like she was very supportive of Michelle's musical aspirations from a young age, even buying her something to record music in seventh grade. Most parents would be like this is a phase and not drop so much money on what is probably very expensive equipment. But she knew what she wanted at a young age and went for it.

My opinion, sorry if you disagree. However Michelle has a beautiful voice, and you could tell she was passionate and a humble person. Danielle seemed to kind of have a big head... That is exactly how I felt about Danielle since her blind auditions. Yes, she could sing, but so did every single person that auditioned. Maybe it's because I'm not a country fan and it all sounds the same to me, but I just could not hear/see what all the judges were raving about. I remember thinking "really?!" every time Adam and Blake would tell her she would win the whole thing (very early in the competition, I might add). I guess I don't know anything because she did win the whole darn thing haha. I connected with Michelle and her voice because it was unique and it was refreshing to see that genre finally get mainstream recognition. Part of the reason why I don't listen to the radio is because everything sounds the same to me and in my opinion, most of it is pretty awful. Although I'm still sad that Michelle didn't win the Voice, I am glad to have been introduced to her work and to her personality. She is one of the very few artists out there today that has had quite an effect on me. Shakira nailed it on the head when she said that Michelle is needed in the industry right now.

All of my votes went to Michelle from the very beginning. I will say that I love team usher. I thought they were the best team and had the best coach. I also liked Sasha Allen.

Can someone link me to that interview that spawned a gif where Michelle peeks into Danielle's shot during an interview? I believe the gif was posted on tumblr. Pretty please?

My favorites were Michelle, Judith, Amber, and Sarah. I wanted Michelle, Judith, and Amber to be top 3. Danielle has a good voice and everything, but I don't feel like she expresses what she's singing well. And then people defend her and say she's only 16- but Amber's 19, and she sang with so much passion. And she was much more versatile. Usually, people like Amber end up getting far through the competition, but I think Amber was overshadowed by Danielle. If Danielle wasn't there, Amber would have been more popular. I also wanted Cathia to make it farther than she did. I feel like Usher should have chose Cathia over Josiah. I can see that a lot of people love Josiah here, but I don't see anything special about his voice. I like his voice a lot, but there are a lot of singers out there that are pop rock with a jazz influence. Cathia was a really strong singer, I don't know why Usher let her go. But Michelle is always my favorite.

Usher is an expert in promoting "heartthrobs" (I put heartthrob in quotations because, I'm sorry, Justin Bieber is a baby and I don't get his appeal at all) so I think he believed that all the young guys/girls wold vote for Josiah.
